A Picture's Worth a Thousand Words
I don't have any pictures of this weekend as the camera was left home and I don't have time at this point for a thousand words but I will summarize. The LL Maine Coast Weekend:
A cottage in Cape Rosier Maine, on the Penobscot Bay, just south of Blue Hill with 3 other couples, of whose company we enjoy, and their children (2 a piece, all charming mostly, to LL Maine standard). Horseshoes on the beach, a walk in the woods to pick lots of blueberries, more horseshoes on the beach, and then a big lobsterfest followed by blueberry pie. All the kids were in bed by 9:00 and the grown ups (us) sat on the beach by the fire. Harbor seals or porpoises were coming up just of the beach and breathing pretty loudly. Call me and I'll demonstrate the sound. Kind of like pfffsss, not what you were thinking. The next morning was coffee on the beach followed by kayaking around the bay. We left at 2:00 but not before a brief swim. I'll post the exact temp when I find it but suffice it to say it was ......really....really...cold.
